Description

It’s always in the way – but apparently it serves a deeper purpose.

At first glance, this coat rack in the mainhall appears to be nothing more than a utilitarian object used during events. But legends and logs suggest it might have a more mysterious past.

Some believe it originated from the carbon ring, where it was once part of a storage module for atmospheric suits and textile containers. Others speculate it was introduced during cbrp2 and later adapted in cbrp3 to serve as a multi-use holder for both physical and cognitive burdens.

Lore

A partially recovered entry from LGBN 5:7 refers to a "modular textile convergence pole" with seven docking points – a description some associate with this very artefact. Whether this is coincidence or confirmation remains undecided.

Another story tells of its use in the early days of reconstruction as an “exocortex disconnection hub” – where crew members could hang their coats and detach lingering thoughts.

Current Use

During events, the coat rack still does what it was designed to do: hold garments. But be careful – if more than seven items are placed on it at once, strange field disturbances have been reported.

Some say it remembers every jacket ever hung on it. Others say it judges.
